A Broad on Broadway

This blog is written by a foodie couple who recently moved to New York City and are enjoying exploring their new home city by dining at restaurants. Their blog posts reviews of the placed they enjoy (and didn’t). So many cuisines! This is a great blog to check out if you find yourself traveling to The Big Apple.

Swallowing The Seasons

This blog takes a seasonal approach to eating and drinking. Melinda enjoys combining what’s growing in the garden or sitting on the pantry shelf to make something delicious. Which is something I can certainly relate to! Check out her Vietnamese Spring Rolls perfect for easy summertime fare!

Eat Well, Eat Cheap

“Quit that restaurant habit and shrink that bar bill. Here’s how to cook delicious meals at home – and find wine bargains for less than $10 a bottle”. That is the description of this blog’s inspiration. Lots of cooking with fresh CSA veggies and reviews of wine.

My Boyfriend Dated a Chef

This blog was started by Karalee whose boyfriend used to date a chef. That being the case, when the couple got together, she decided she needed to step up her game and get some cooking chops of her own! This blog features her favorite recipes, and the little tips and tricks she has learned along the way – everything from shortcuts to meals that take 2-3 hours of preparation! It is all here.

Fruitcake or Nuts

I just love this blog title…it brings up so many different images! This blog is authored by Shayne, a 33 year old Michigan woman who just moved to Mexico. She is married to a British born Serbian and they have two beautiful children. Cooking is her pastime and source of relaxation. She writes her blog for her love of food, cooking and to keep a record of what has been tried, or what she may want to try or what others try that looks interesting!

Sorry this post is a little later than usual today – but today was the day we said goodbye to my fabulous step-daughters, Rachel and Gwen, who returned to their home in CT today. I don’t know what I am going to do now without my kitchen helpers! ;) But I am proud to say that while they were here, they both started blogs! I think eventually everyone in our family will be a blogger!

Anyway, as always here is what the FFF is all about. Finest Foodies Friday! FFF is a weekly Friday post featuring favorites from The Foodie Blogroll! We do this so we can share in the rich diversity of what The Foodie Blogroll has to offer by featuring some of our favorites and yours!

Gastronomer’s Guide

This blog is written by Joseph whose inspiration for blogging is to “celebrate the world of gastronomy in both the simple and elegant forms, from basic home cooking to elaborate restaurant cuisine. My aim is to teach, entertain, and expand the reader’s/eater’s fundamental experience with food into the extraordinary by exploring science, history, culture, cooking, dining, and eating.” The pictures are seriously drool-worthy.

SoCal Sustenance

Laura is an East Coast girl who shares her misadventures in learning to love the bounty of her new home in California. Her latest recipe for Peanut and Panko Crusted Chicken Nuggets with a Thai Satay sauce looks like a yummy weekend dish to me!

Stile Mediterraneo

Stile Mediterraneo means Mediterranean Way of Life. In Puglia, in Southern Italy, sisters Cinzia and Marika give a perspective of life in their beautiful region of Italy through blogging about the food and wine of the area. They also hold culinary and wine classes for those who wish to travel to Puglia to learn more first hand! Who knows, maybe the next time we are in Italy, we will stop by!

Feasts and Fotos

Susan from New York City is the writer behind this blog. She shares her adventures in the kitchen, behind the lens and on the road as she enjoys her hobbies of cooking, photography and travel! Her Independence Day Stuffed Potatoes look absolutely delicious!

Little House

This blog is written by a Vietnamese couple living in Singapore – talk about awesome food cultures! The original blog was written in Vietnamese, but this is the English version. With a few good recipes and some basic equipment and techniques, anyone should be able to prepare a simple meal, and prepare it well”. Her blog tries to dispel the mis-truth that you have to be an expert to cook.

The Split Pea

is one of my new favorite blogs. It is written by Eralda who is from Albania but now lives in Texas in the US, with her husband and adorable little boy. The kitchen is many things to her: is where I rest, learn, experiment; it is where the many parts of myself collide onto each other, like strangers in the street.  They turn to look and meet a familiar gaze, a part of self that was missing, and in a moment of magic, they embrace, like perfectly married ingredients; they comprise a whole of many parts.” If you like eggplant, you don’t want to miss her latest post about The Lunch that Kept the Vampyres Away

Standing at the Kitchen Door

is a collection of recipes and memories, written by Mimi, a new member on The Foodie Blogroll! Welcome, Mimi! She has a lot of wonderful recipes and really great pictures. Her most recent post Two Cheese Garden Tomato Tart looks delicious! Perfect for all those summer time tomatoes!

17 and Baking

I always love to welcome young bloggers to The Foodie Blogroll and to the world of Food Blogging! I wish that food blogging had existed when I was 17! I am sure I would have started that young, and I bet my cooking would be 10x’s better by now! Her love of baking started when she bought a book about cake – for the pictures. Then when she realized that she could actually bake cakes too, there was nothing to stop her! Her parents bought her a camera this year so she could document her baking experiences! Please go and welcome Elissa to the Food Blogging Community!

Orange Blossom Water

This blog is written by Dimah who was born and raised in Syria. She chose the name for her blog because it is an ingredient that is very special in Syrian cuisine and is now finding popularity the world over – so it connects Syria to the rest of the world. She learned all of her recipes of Syrian cuisine from her mom, and her blog features those recipes as well as her own.

My Children’s Chef

This blog is written by Sylvia who is living far away from her home country, Malaysia. She is also a former restaurant owner, who still loves to cook, and uses her blog as a way to keep her closer to both of those things that she loves. Her photos are also beautiful and her recipes look delicious, especially her Simple Malaysian Fried Chicken

The Funny Side Up
This is an awesome video blog, by Lisa. Lisa cooks in her parent’s kitchen, for family and friends. She makes everything from croissants, pies and tamales to dog treats – all with a side of humor and good tips. I am telling you, you will laugh along with getting good recipes. This girl needs a TV show, people. Check out her recent post on pulled pork – I think this is something I will need to make this summer!

Gluten Free Garden
Gluten Free Garden is written by Hannah, who began her journey into natural and healthy foods after she discovered she was gluten intolerant in 2008. She now has a beautiful garden she started to provide a sustainable, gluten-free food resource her family! She posts with wonderful gluten free recipes, gardening and even bee keeping tips!

ZOE
It is really hard to resist a food blog with good pictures. I mean a blog does not have to have the best pictures in the world to make a regular reader out of me, because I myself am a writer more than a photographer, but that said, pictures certainly do catch your eye. ZOE is certainly one of those blogs. So go check it out. You’ll see what I am saying.

Cosmic Garden
This is a very interesting blog written by organic, sustainable farmers in Tasmania. They grow their garden according to the ancient practice of gardening by the moon. There is a plethora of gardening tips, and new (to me at least) ways of gardening that I certainly want to learn more about. Of course there are also delicious recipes that highlight all of the wonderful produce they grow!

It Was a Pleasure to Eat You
Here is part of Kimberly’s Manifesto: “ I’ve started a blog for instructional purposes–to teach individuals that food can be fun, that food is fun and exciting but never boring, and that what you put in your body matters! I hope you enjoy following me on my journey, and please feel free to agree, disagree, or present your own views about food.” This blog is all about a simple life with food – growing, preserving and learning to live with the land that produces our food.

The Curious Blogquat
This blog is authored by Rob, (aka gfron1) owner of the Cafè at the Kumquat, a small dining experience housed in a large minded gourmet store. He is interested in both French Pastry and molecular gastronomy techniques and bringing them together. You’ll see what that translates to when you read about the wedding he recently catered in Scottsdale, AZ

Saffron Paisley
This blog is written by a single mother to a toddler living in Santa Cruz, California. She has a lot of varied interests which include, food, travel and textiles. She writes a lot about books, baking and farmer’s markets as well as a myriad of other activities that she enjoys with her daughter in order to keep her daughter creatively engaged in the world around her .

A Dash of Flavor
This blog focuses on recipes that an be part of a weight loss regimen, like weight watchers, however, it is not solely diet food – because as Jo, the author says, there are just some recipes that are too good not to post. There are a lot of delicious main dish recipes for pasta, chicken, red meat and whatever else you might fancy.

Kitchen Flavours
For this blogger from India, “Cooking is all about Experimenting and Experiencing”. Her blog showcases recipes from a variety of resources – family, magazines, cookbooks and cooking shows. Her pictures are lovely and her blog is full of the rich flavors of India! Enjoy!

Market to Mouth
Most foodies I know love to shop at Whole Foods if there is one near enough to them. Whole Foods is like a field trip for people that love food. There is just so much to see, to sample and to learn about. But it is expensive! That is the most common complaint I hear. This blog is dedicated to BUDGET shopping at Whole Foods. Louise has been in the food business for a long time, as a chef, in a variety of different places all over the world. Now she is “ Whole Foods’ official “Unofficial” recession-strategy blogger”!

The Flavors of Abruzzo

This blog is written by a US expat living in the Abruzzo region of Italy. I always really love reading expat blogs, they give such an interesting perspective on the area of the world where they live. I always love finding out how they ended up there, out of all the places in the world, and how they adjust to the point where their new country becomes “home”. Maybe that is because I am married to my own expat, or because I have also lived in other countries (I consider the Navajo Nation a different country), and therefore can relate. But another reason is I love seeing what they cook up in their kitchens! So if you like Italian food, or like to read about the lives of expats, you should check this one out!

Rico Cafe-Bistro

Have you guys met Rico? If not you should certainly go and pay his blog a visit. Rico is a very friendly blogger who has recently been really reaching out to the food blogging community with kind greetings, and a smile on his face (well I imagine there is a smile on his face, anyway…). His goal is to blog about recipes that are easy to create or bake, nutritious, wholesome, healthy and economical too.

The Last Bite

has a really cool logo, and that spoon of chocolate just lets you know right away that there are a lot of yummy recipes to be had by reading this blog. Another great thing about this blog is when you check out the recipes, they are all good ingredients. This always makes me happy – bloggers that care about where their food comes from – I swear we are starting a movement! This blogger also believes that the care and love you put into your food, are the right ingredients to make the perfect dish. She doesn’t believe eating is all about fueling the body, there is more to it. She says: “Each meal is the opportunity for a food story, or in other words an edible hug”.

Nooschi: A Food Diary

This blog was started as a way for the author to document her food filled adventures. She realized that when she traveled she took almost as many food photos as anything else, and wanted to create a way to remember her journeys with stories. What does Nooschi mean?

Pronounced noo-shee, the name is a true portmanteau, and is combination of both the author and her partner’s cultures: Persian and Chinese. “In Persian, the word for bon appétit is noosh – e – jan, and the word for eating in Chinese is chi. You put the two together, and you get Nooschi!”

Fried Pickles and Ice Cream

This is another expat in Italy blog. This blog is a spin off from her original blog as a way to share recipes with family and friends. She has recently joined many of the blogging worlds monthly challenges as well, and so this is a blog for her to share her experiences there as well. Right now, I am really drooling over her Strawberry Vanilla Cake with Limoncello Frosting. Apparently it is so good, she made it five times in one month!
