I love the colours! My bedroom is that shade of red - red zinger I think it was called. I'm thinking this is in regards to my pictures - so thanks! The shade is actually called "fine wine" - and I LOVE it. Makes the oak cabinets really POP.

I get to repost mine because we recently moved to another rental (so nothing is of my say, lol). It's all fugly brown tile and flagstone flooring, not enough cupboards , 1 outlet for countertop appliances, but has all new stainless steele appliances! Hate the flate top stove, but love the oven! There is a pantry area in that doorway, but am waiting for Husband to get me some shelving units (so excuse that mess in there).

I don't think it's that bad! I kinda like the floors... I agree about the flat top stove - I hate mine too! Your stove and dishwasher look just like mine!

I've not been here for too long, but so far it is working alright. I could use more cabinet space, but I love how open it is. This is the view as you enter the kitchen from the foyer. And from the opposite side. Don't know why the pantry isn't fully closed... Don't love the flat top stove, but the sunken sink rocks my world. Well, that's my lab. There's a lot I would like to change, but since it's my first kitchen as a married woman, i have a certain level of affection for it as is.

I'm very jealous of the light. Mine sucks.

It's really great light in the morning, like walking into sunshine. My cats go in there and bask until about noon. I took the photos later in the day though so the light really is not at its best. Love any windows thoough so cannot complain.

It looks nice and light! It looks pretty spacious too! What is with those stoves!? I have seen so many that look like the one I have - must be a new thing in apartments....

People who don't cook think they're sleek looking and easier to keep clean. At least that is why my Mom just got one in her new kitchen. Mine drives me nuts, and because I am the SLOPPIEST cook in the world, it always has things burnt onto the flat top. I have explicit fantasies about eventually getting a gas stove, but that is quite an investment so for now the flat top and I are learning to coexist.

I've grown to like mine. I'm severely limited on counter space, so I freuqently do my prep on the stovetop. As for keeping it clean, it's pretty easy as long as you clean while you go. Anyone who has ever worked at a restuarant has developed the skill as a simple matter of self-preservation. But once it becomes a habit, it doesn't even seem like you're doing anything extra. You just don't have a mess to clean up when you're done. Burned-on food can usually be fixed with a razor blade. If you don't want to handle it bare-handed, get a paint scraper. Scrape the surface just like you're removing paint from a window.

That's generally where I park my laptop(my cookbook) unless i am actually using the stovetop. As far as cleaning, I've found Comet works really well too. I think rather than saving up for a gas stove I'll save for a maid. She can scrub the flat top AND work on getting the flour out of my keyboard

She can scrub the flat top AND work on getting the flour out of my keyboard When she's done, can you send her over to get the flour out of my camera? Seriously, though, you can get a maid once a month for quite a while before it would pay for a new stove. A few women in my neighborhood got together and they have someone do all four houses on the same day each week. They pay (if I remember correctly) about $30 each. If you did monthly, that's $360 for the first year. A good gas stove could easily be twice that.

My kitchen is about the size of a small walk-in closet. It's small, but I've had smaller. And half the time it's fairly messy. But my husband and I have made some delicious foods in here. This is the view from inside the pantry. This is the pantry, complete with missing pantry door that management has yet to replace. And the tiny head in the corner is my one-year-old who wandered into the picture at the last second. Yeah, isn't it lovely? I can't wait to own our own home, with a ridiculously large kitchen and more cupboard and counter space than I'll ever be able to use! Or at least a dishwasher. That would be nice. Sigh.

Well, it's taken me two and a half months to finally get around to posting my new kitchen, but I finally got my kitchen clean and remembered to take pictures. So, here's our new kitchen in Kodiak: Don't ask me why my husband feels it's neccessary for us to have not one, but two coffee machines. The oven isn't underneath the stovetop, it's actually part of the cupboard area that has the grapes on it (towards the left side of the photos). Oh, and yes, those are acorn squashes next to my vase of flowers. I found some!!

Ok...I'm inspired! All the pictures are wonderful, and no worse than what I've got to work with! 650 sq ft kitchen...my whole house is only 950 sq ft!! My kitchen is slightly smaller than the average bath of the new generation. It hasn't got room for a dinette set, unless I yield and give up my shelves. Since that's where my tools live (food processor, mixer, toaster, you name it). For only 2 people, I don't know why I need so much stuff...except that I tend to cook for 200 now and again, and again, and again. I'll have to get some more organizing done, slap on that paint I've been threatening for the past 3 years and get with it! Thank you all for sharing!! It made me feel better! LOL!
