Great! Our local strawberries will be in prime pickin' next week and I have a "special" flavor of basil in the garden. As for the grain, hmm Huh

Hi,

Firstly congratulations to LK from Healthy Delicious... great entry!!

Secondly, can I please get you to clarify "whole grains" just so I know that I am on the right track... as we know some ingredients have other names especially here in Australia!!  I do understand the strawberries and basil though...hahahaha...   Cheesy

Cheers,
Jo

I am stoked for this. But for whole grains, does that include a whole grain or whole wheat pasta? Or is it the grain itself?

Fun ingredients!

And FYI...here is the Whole Grains Council's (who knew there was a council for this sort of thing?!  Shocked) definition of what "whole grain" means:

Quote
List of whole grains

The following, when consumed in a form including the bran, germ and endosperm, are examples* of generally accepted whole grain foods and flours. Click here to learn more about each one.

    * Amaranth
    * Barley
    * Buckwheat
    * Corn, including whole cornmeal and popcorn
    * Millet
    * Oats, including oatmeal
    * Quinoa
    * Rice, both brown rice and colored rice
    * Rye
    * Sorghum (also called milo)
    * Teff
    * Triticale
    * Wheat, including varieties such as spelt, emmer, farro, einkorn, Kamut®, durum and forms such as bulgur, cracked wheat and wheatberries
    * Wild rice

* Note: This list is not meant to be comprehensive, but to include those grains most familiar to consumers. Other cereal grasses from the Poaceae (or Gramineous) family, such as canary seed, Job's tears, Montina, fonio, etc. are also whole grains when consumed with all of their bran, germ and endosperm.

Amaranth, quinoa, and buckwheat are not in the Poaceae botanical family, but these "pseudo-grains" are normally included with true cereal grains because their nutritional profile, preparation, and use are so similar.

Oilseeds and legumes (such as flax, chia, sunflower seeds, soy, chickpeas, etc.) are not considered whole grains by the WGC, the AACC International, or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

So many many ways to go with this one. Congratulations to all the winners. You deserved it

I already have about 3 dishes off top of my head on this one. And basil is growing in backyard. Can't wait.

Congrats to healthydelicious!!  And wow...that's a great combo!  Interesting....  Our strawberry season is usually over by now, but this Spring hasn't been too hot.  Well, at least not for any great length of time.  Best of luck to all!
