Hello Everyone!

I must just say it was great seeing so many of you back for last month's Joust and so many wonderful new participants!
I look forward to welcoming many more this time around!

This month, here in North America, we celebrate Halloween! So for this month's Joust, Kat has decided to use the colors of Orange and Black to inspire you for this month's Joust!

Here are your ingredients:

Orange - Pumpkin (or anything other orange flesh squash, i.e. butternut, acorn, kabocha)
Black - Stout, Porter or other dark colored Beer (if you don't want to use alcohol, you can substitute in cola)
Sugar

Let the games begin!!!  Grin

I'm confused as to what to do with these ingredients... I'll probably come up with something in the middle of the night while trying to go to sleep! Will be doing a lot of thinking on this one Smiley

Its been a tough week, but the baby is finally feeling a little better, and mommy needed some chocolate cake.  (we have all been there no?) so I thought I might as well adapt it to the challenge.  And, I had all the ingredients.

Stout Pumpkin Chocolate Cake with Pumpkin Pie Frosting

i have a 6 inch  cake to photograph tomorrow, but you get the point....

now i have to eat at least 2 more cupcakes.

Feeding Maybelle, its like you read my mind with those cupcakes. It was the first thing I thought of when I suggested the ingredients.

WOW I cannot believe that you have already posted a recipe this early in the month..... Shocked

Unfortunately halloween isn't a huge event here in Australia.  Not everyone trick or treats except for a small few.

But I must say I like these ingredients.....  and I am sure I will participate this month.  I have wanted to do so the last few months but outside of computer life was really busy!!

Good luck everyone...

Wow, feedingmaybelle! I am glad to hear that the little one is feeling better, and you got a chocolate fix! This is a totally fantastic treat! I wish I could help you eat them.

Love that pumpkin pie frosting, Maybelle Mom!

May I ask for an ingredient clarification from the Queen?  My celiac husband can't eat wheat, rye, barley and that eliminates most beers from his diet.  There is a Redbridge beer made from sorghum that we buy at our supermarket that is gluten-free and safe for him to eat/drink, but it is an amber ale rather than a dark beer as called for in the ingredients list.  Would this be acceptable to use for this Joust?
