I love all three ingredients, but am having creative difficulties imagining this trio in my mouth.  Mushroom Mimosas is all I keep coming up with, to my dismay!  I'll have to keep mulling it over.

Jenn...I'm sorry! I was right on schedule, but when I went out to get something from the back up freezer...it was off. I've got about 10# of pork butt to deal with pronto, plus ribs (and although this is California, it sure isn't BBQ season out at this end of the state!). We're calling 75% of the game hens a loss.  That doesn't mean I'm out of this!!  It just means my focus took a 180° whiplash for the moment!

For the champagne, mushroom and orange joust please consider my recipes posted December 28, 2009 on my blog at http://mothermayhave.com/

I challenged myself to create an entire meal with the ingredients that would be culturally reflective of the New Year's Eve celebration.

Thus, I offer you:

Black Eyed Peas with Orange and Spice-Infused Rice

Chicken Breast Roasted with Oranges and Mushrooms

Mushroom Mixed Greens Salad with Orange Champagne Vinaigrette

Quinoa Pudding with Orange Infusion and Chocolate Cinnamon Topping

I challenged myself to create an entire meal using the ingredients.  I also wanted to reflect my blog's culture and identity themes.
Check out, http://mothermayhave.com.

The recipes are:

Mushroom Mixed Greens Salad with Orange Champagne Vinaigrette
Black-Eyed Peas with Orange and Spice-Infused Rice
Chicken Breast Roasted with Oranges and Mushrooms
Quinoa Pudding with Orange Infusion and Chocolate Cinnamon Topping

Enjoy!  Thanks for this opportunity to stretch myself and improve my "cooking chops."

WOW, mothermayhave! Thanks so much for joining us this month! This is quite impressive! According to the contest rules, you need to chose one dish/one picture for the voting polls! That is going to be a hard choice - let me know which one you want to use for the competition!

Hi,
Thanks for the compliment!  It was truly fun to challenge myself.  If I had to choose, for the joust I'd pick the Black-Eyed Peas and Rice dish as my entry.  It hinted all the ingredients without being overly bold with them.

Peace,

Oh, boy! Read the ingredients and was almost tasting my entry. Now, if the sun will cooperate with me on Friday, I can get it done, take the pix, and figure out how to upload it all in time.  This is such fun. Never been in a joust, before. (as long as no one puts in chicken lips and frog's breath, I can do it -- I think)
