I know, the question sounds ridiculous.  But seriously, how does one wash a rasp zester without getting green bits of sponge stuck inside the tiny holes?  I would greatly appreciate if you could help me solve this mystery!
Thanks!

I have a toothbrush that I keep in the kitchen for things like this. Works great. Also, if you scrub with the blades, not against them, you won't zest your sponge.

Aaaah....a toothbrush!  What a simple, great solution to my problem.  A kitchen toothbrush is now on my list of items to go find!
Thanks for the tip!

I run mine under very hot water as soon as I use it so that none of the zest sticks to it.  Then I run my regular soapy dish towel down the plain.  I'm pretty low maintenance.

Wasn't it Mitch Hedberg who referred to a cheese grater as a "sponge destroyer"? I thought that was hilarious!

I've been known to put mine in the dishwasher.  Shocked

I don't have a microplane ( I wish!), I just use a small grater. I also run it under water right after using.

-kinda OT, but this reminds me of when I need to scrub marking off our walls, they are stucco textured, and you can't just wipe them. It' shreds whatever it is up. lol
