I too have an idea or two brewing in my head...but I'm going to have to get it together fast if I'll be able to get it done in time. I have way too much going on the next couple of weeks but I am definitely going to try!

My submission for the August Royal Foodie Joust ! Sweet Honey Peach BreadWonderful spicy bread, perfect for a hot summer brunch with good people around the table. I used caraway seeds and curry powder to add another interesting flavor to the already very riped peaches. The walnuts bring their woody flavors as well, to the sweet honey. Being a bread maker by passion, as soon as I saw the ingredients, I had to make a bread! But don't be intimidated by making a bread. You will find on my Misty Mexican blog, all the easy steps to make from almost no ingredients, wonderful breads. The only requirement before making a piece of passion is to have on hand a good yeast and to test it before making any further steps. My testing is : take 2 cups of warm tap water (test the warm with the tip of your finger, the same warm as for a baby formula is a good guide), drop 3 tablespoons of sugar in the water, mix it and sprinkle, without moving the water, the yeast on the surface of the water. Let is rise by itself (a good indication is to see the bubbles forming and almost moving around). That is a good indication that the yeast is alive. If you make a bread with a dead yeast, your bread won't rise at all and you will taste the yeast inside the sliced bread. So, now, give this wonderful recipe a try. Anybody can make breads, anybody! Enjoy! Misty Mexican

This sweet Honey Peach Bread looks wonderful to me. I love the uniqueness of using the caraway and curry. I really think you have hit on a winning combination here, I can't wait to try this bread. You definitely have my vote.

Congratulations Jennifer!!
There are so many wonderful recipes to choose from. I will have to make up mind! In the meantime, this is not really a recipe you can eat, but a "beauty" recipe. This really is a recipe...I promise..I found it in a magazine....a real magazine. It uses honey, peaches and eggs!!
Grind 1 T almonds into a fine meal in a blender or food processor. Mix almonds together with 1 T honey and 1 egg white. Apply to face and let set for about 15 minutes. Gently wash off with a damp cloth. Cut a slice from a peach and rub it all over your face. Leave it on for 20 or more minutes and then rinse off.
This adds a whole new element to a "peaches and cream complexion".

Wow, two very interesting recipes to start off the games. I love the use of spices with heat to blend with the warm and creamy texture of a ripe peach in Misty-Mexican's recipe. And I absolutely love the creativity and thinking outside the recipe box of Valli's facial recipe! Nice work so far!

This is a question for the Queen. Can Her Majesty not compete? It would be fun to see how she fares against the rest of us mere mortals... but is that allowed? Is that against the spirit of the Joust? Or maybe the Queen should just stay in her parlour and eat bread and honey....?
What do the rest of Her 'subjects' think?

It would be wondeful if the Queen would compete. A contest is a contest. May the best one win!

This is my submission for the August Royal Foodie Joust - Peachy Honey Mustard Pasta CasseroleIts a pasta dish with a difference. I used Peaches to add sweetness and a little fruity flavour to the Honey Mustard sauce. Hard Boiled Eggs are mixed in with the casserole just like my mother used to do with her Tuna Casserole. I was actually a little surprised at how well the dish turned out. It was a whole lot more delicious than I expected it to be. Frankly, I was just toying with this idea but since it turned out so well and everyone loved it, I thought I'd make it my submission for the Joust! I hope you like it.....

This looks so interesting Dharm!
I have given a lot of thought to entering the Joust myself, and I have decided that I will post an entry, but I won't be part of the vote! I think that is fair. What do you all say?

I think it would great if you would enter the joust your majesty. Each new joust has ingredients suggested by others, so, I think it is fair to say that you should be allowed to show your creativity as well.
