I wonder who operates it now if it's not Notcot. And I'm still puzzled about those mysterious legal problems.
At any rate, I'm sure they'll get it back to normal but it's a little buggy at the moment. I just tried submitting something.

Woooooot!!!!
Not quite the same interface, but close enough that they'll probably regain their readership pretty quickly.

I sent in something that I thought for sure they'd post also. I swear, it's pretty. I've been really frustrated trying to get posts on foodgwker. They reject me a lot. So even though I think my pic is stellar, I wasn't surprised when it got rejected But I was surprised when tastespotting didn't take it. They haven't posted much, so I don't know. But I miss getting hundreds of hits per day.

Foodgawker--they're tough customers! Don't forget Recipes2Share--Fiona's great about posting photos, RecipeMuncher--you sign up your blog, and it automatically grabs your newest posts, and there's another pne called NewTastings.com.
I'm sure these new sites would love to stick around, too, so if you use them, give them a shout out occasionally to get people looking at them.

You are right! I will absolutely continue to post on Recipes2share. Fiona is so nice and accomodating. When I switched my blog over I tried a funny graphic and she posted it. Then I went more serious. I made a collage. I asked if she would replace the old one. She posted that too. While Tastespotting has been down, she has posted my photos and linked to my blog, and I will forever be grateful and loyal to her and Recipes2share. By the way, she did post the photo of the brioche topped with chocolate goat cheese and honey that the others turned down. For the life of me, I don't know what was wrong with that photo. It made my mouth water and I thought the composition and lighting were very good. I just made my first panna cotta and I will be sending her the photos first thing (as long as they are worthy of my blog). Also, Fiona has left the most thoughtful comments on my blog. I hope that Recipes2share doesn't go away.

Hello,
Many thanks for your kind words, they are appreciated.
My aim is to spread and encourage the passion of food, cooking and a '2share' online food magazine philosophy.
I have been delighted with all the photos I have received over the last couple of weeks and welcome more..and more... Perhaps from time to time a picture is a little grainy but it has usually been taken with great care (I assume that most of us are hobby photographers??) and has some well thougt out writing behind it which we all want to read...
We are currently developing a new section which I hope to publish within the next couple of days and if you haven't already seen the live blog feed 'Blog View' then please have a sneeky peek, add your blog to the section too then let everyone know its there...!
recipes2share was launched autumn 2007 as a food site, which then only featured recipes, most of which are still my own (I'm a Home Economist). We have developed and introduced new features such as the members gallery though this was to compliment the global site and never as just a gallery forum which some have inaccurately described it as. Actually, I adore this feature as it really is a recipe2share section with a photo image..what a cookbook to share!
We have many ideas to take the site forward over the coming months and are always open to suggestions from our users.
Again, All I can say is a big thank you to everyone who visits or submits to the site. It keeps everything fun and friendly for us all.
Fiona

elle, question regarding newtastings.com, have you posted? Every time I get to the third step, no submission button is there. Has this happened to you or anyone else? I can't find a place to ask a question on the site?

I too have submitted a lot of photos to food gawker and none got posted. I am beginning to see that it is the same posters over an over again. It's a little clicque. I figure if my pics are good enough for a national newspaper, they would make into food gawker, but nope. None have passed. I don't have the best camera in the world but still love food and was a little disappointed that they are only selecting pics from high res cameras. Just because someone has a nice camera doesn't mean their recipes are good. I do a LOT of food styling and some of the best shots are of food that is not edible because of all the tricks we use to make it look that good. What about those of us with low end cameras and great recipes? It's not like I'm submitting poloroid shots. I've tried my luck with Tastespotting. We'll see how it goes.

My photos were not only good, but high resolution too! And they were good enough for food porn daily. And that guy doesn't post that many pics. Perhaps foodgwker is just to clique-like for me. But it really did frustrate me and make me second-guess my work.

It definitely can be frustrating. Especially when you look at some that DID get posted. Makes me go "WTF!" I'm sorry, but some are not the greatest, and they do get posted. I mean., I'm no expert, but I don't think my photos suck. I hope they don't. I'm not going to sweat over it, though. There are other options. Kimi--Re: New Tastings? I didn't have trouble, but I only submitted one to them so far. they did say they were working out the bugs, so hopefully they get it straightened out.

I don't know Food Gawker seems to have picked more of my photos that Tastespotting has in the past & I certainly don' t have any in with them.
